The UK's first and only clinical dermatology franchise
Diamond Skin Care is a multi-award-winning private dermatology group that has been trading for over 12 years and now runs five clinics in Norwich, Colchester, Hertford, Sutton Coldfield and Doncaster. More than 17,000 patient appointments later, the group is opening its clinical model to franchisees for the first time.
This is a specialist-led, CQC-registered healthcare business — not a beauty salon concept. Patients pay privately for fast access to dermatology consultations, mole checks, mole removal and acne treatment programmes, without needing private medical insurance.
Why there is real demand
- Reducing NHS supply: average NHS waiting time for a routine dermatology appointment is around 12 months and rising.
- Referral volume: close to half of patients who see a GP about a skin complaint need onward referral for specialist medication or treatment.
- Rising incidence: the rate of skin cancer in the UK has more than doubled since the 1990s.
- Changing behaviour: more people now go straight to private skin care for speed and convenience.
- No direct competition: Diamond Skin Care is the first and only clinical dermatology franchise in the UK.
What your clinic delivers
You run the same treatment menu operating across all five established centres — a blend of recurring treatment programmes and high-value single procedures.
- Diamond AcneCure — a proprietary acne treatment programme with a 90% cure rate, sold as a recurring-revenue package.
- Mole checks — full-body dermoscopy screening by dermoscopy-trained clinicians.
- Mole removal — high-margin single-attendance procedures, typically booked within five days.
- Dermatology consultancy — skin, hair and nail conditions from eczema through to suspected skin cancer.
Your clinic and your territory
Your franchise can operate from one or two clinical rooms rented inside a GP practice or an established private centre, then move to your own branded high-street premises as you grow. Diamond Skin Care checks any venue for suitability before you commit.
Every franchisee receives a protected marketing territory of a 40-mile radius from their centre, allocated exclusively. Single-site and multi-site licences are available.
The head office does the heavy lifting
You focus on patients and local relationships. Central office runs the machinery behind the clinic:
- A dedicated business manager and three management visits a year
- All sales and patient bookings handled by a trained central team
- Your paid advertising budget planned and managed for you
- National SEO and social media campaigns
- Your local Google Business Profile created and managed
- Monthly operational and marketing meetings during early growth
- Weekly clinical meetings, an open clinical Slack channel and shared clinical records software
- CQC cover as a satellite of the Diamond Skin Care registration
Investment
The franchise licence is £37,000 plus VAT and includes everything needed to open: a complete clinical equipment package (dermatoscope, hyfrecator, defibrillator, clinical furniture and consumables), a four-week training programme at head office and locally, a ready-made website within the national brand, and the central sales and booking team.
Diamond Skin Care also recommends setting aside around £10,000 for the first four months of launch advertising, by which point revenue is expected to cover it.
Illustrative projections prepared by the franchisor run from £378,000 revenue and £90,502 profit before taxation in year one (2.5 clinic days a week), to £757,200 revenue and £316,463 profit before taxation in year three (5 clinic days a week). These are projections rather than a guarantee of earnings; they exclude VAT, corporation tax, loan repayments and interest, depreciation and card charges. Full financial detail is provided under NDA as part of the prospectus process.
Who this suits
Clinical experience is welcomed but not essential — many franchisees come from business or management backgrounds and employ or contract the clinicians, with training and clinical governance supplied centrally. What matters is commercial drive, comfort in a regulated healthcare setting, and the appetite to build a local patient base.
How the process works
- Enquire — every enquiry answered within 48 hours.
- Discovery call — early due diligence on both sides.
- Detailed pack under NDA — full financials, operational documents and a candidate FAQ.
- Visit Norwich — see enquiry, sales, delivery and aftercare in real life and meet the leadership team.
- Venue check — the team assesses your proposed premises.
- Agreement — territory agreement and franchise contract signed.
- Recruitment and marketing — launch date set, usually 8–10 weeks out, with patients booking in.
- Launch — you open with revenue already generated.
