10 Reasons why we’re Elite Franchise’s Number 1

Elite Franchise named us the UK’s leading franchise in the Elite Franchise 100. But what does number one look like?
Here, we’ve picked out 10 things that set us apart from the rest.
We offer the freedom to choose how you want to work
As a Home Instead franchisee, you are your own boss. Whilst it’s important to recognise that you’re part of a network and a valued brand, how you run your office day-to-day is up to you. You set your own hours and you hire your own team – we are simply there to support you along the way with a 45 strong team at National office and a robust franchise model that delivers return on investment.
Our network is driven by passionate people
We have over 190 franchises in our network, all owned by people who are passionate to not only grow a successful business, but to provide high quality homecare in their communities. Many of our owners opened their franchise after personal experience with poor care.
We offer a strong financial model
The Home Instead Senior Care franchise has proven longevity, we have been operating in the UK for the last 12 years. Many of our franchises are turning over in excess of £1 million per year with operating profits of 15-20%. Our business model predicts breakeven at months 12-14.
Our franchisees are leaders in their community
As well as being an employer in their local area, our franchisees often go above and beyond to give something back. Many run free to their community, ranging from coffee mornings to tea dances. We also have franchisees that are non-executive directors or board members for local health organisations and charities.
We have Royal recognition
We received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of the innovation our franchise model has brought to the care sector, becoming the first homecare provider to receive the honour. We were also awarded an inaugural Princess Royal Training Award for our outstanding training and skills development programmes.
We offer industry leading support
From day one, our franchisees are introduced to their dedicated Business Support Manager and Care Support Manager. Our comprehensive support package includes week-long New Owner training, as well as two further training courses, each two days long, at 90 and 180 days. Franchisees receive support on everything from HR to PR.
Finance or food – your background doesn’t matter

As a management franchise opportunity, we look for the right qualities in our franchisees, so experience in the care sector isn’t necessary. Our most successful franchisees come from many different sectors such as finance, retail and hospitality, but they all share the drive to build their business, be a local leader and deliver high quality homecare.
We are officially the most ‘outstanding’

We hold 22 ‘Outstandings’, the highest rating possible from England’s care regulator the Care Quality Commission (CQC) – more than any other homecare provider.
Our foundations are built on a personal story – which is still at the heart of everything we do
Home Instead Senior Care was founded in the US in 1994 by Paul and Lori Hogan, after the family had been caring for Paul’s grandmother. Paul and Lori are still very present in the business today, as the UK and US owners.
It’s more than just business
Our network’s mission is to change the face of ageing. We want to create a world where people live where and how they want to, where they stay connected to their local community and their knowledge and expertise is respected and sought.
Our mission is big and we’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far, but there’s still a lot to do. Our franchisees go above and beyond to help us achieve our mission – it’s why we’re number one.
